The Mystery

Today we mourn the death of JJ MacLellan
a friend and neighbor-as country miles go.
He was a dear young man of twenty-seven
whose life touched many souls.
A tragic motorcycle accident
took JJ from our midst
and only his family truly knows
the full heartache of this.
We stand by them in their sorrow
offering love, support and prayers
wanting to show them in some way
how much the community cares.
Friends from all walks of life
came to his funeral today
and the church was overflowing
with folks from near and far away.
We lift up the cross of this family
hoping to lighten their load
walking with them on their journey,
this calvary of their own.
We do not really understand
why life takes such turns
for only God has a perfect view
and has the final word.
For now we continue our vigil
offering support and prayers
blessing JJ's family
to help lift the burden they bear.
We trust that God will comfort them
in the months and years to come,
for God experienced in a personal way
the traumatic death of a Son.
God shares our every sorrow
and knows our deepest needs
and one day we will understand
the mystery of eternity.

"For I am convinced that neither death,
nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present,
nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation will separate us
from the Love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
- Romans Ch 8 Vs 38-39
