The Historic Fortress Louisbourg

An edifice of architectural art,
a reconstructed eighteenth century town
is the historic site you'll find
when you are Louisbourg bound.

Louisbourg Harbour and the open sea
are waterways that drew
great attraction for a fortress here
for French and English too.

Study, research and excavation,
after many, many years,
allowed a fine historic project
to be resurrected here.

Come back in time with personnel
who consciously portray,
fishermen, soldiers, servants
and many others of the day.

You'll smile as you reminisce
with them of days of yore,
and enjoy this walk through history
beside the Louisbourg shore.
