An Old Family Picture

Running In The Rain

I’m listening to the raindrops
falling from the sky
and thinking how I loved the rain
in childhood years gone by.
I see little children running
playing in the rain
almost if ‘twas yesterday
the memory is so plain;
chasing after raindrops
on warm afternoons
running by the seaside
when summer passed too soon.
Racing through the puddles
and no one got upset,
‘cause we were running bare feet
and didn’t have to fret.
Life seemed so simple then
with time for child’s play,
spent with friends and family
as children in East Bay.
