Please Calm the Waves
Please calm the waves
on our sea of life Lord
sooth our heartaches
at the loss of one we love.
Help us walk this journey
comforting one another
as You comforted Martha and Mary
on the death of Lazarus.
Remind us Lord
that we will meet again
on heaven's golden shore
where there is no more suffering
and no more tears or sorrow.
We do not understand
the death of one so young
one loved by so many people
one who was your faithful servant.
Yet we trust that she is with You
sharing the heavenly vision
promised to Your children.
Help us walk with You Lord
until our time comes
and we too will join You
at the heavenly banquet
prepared for all of us
who place our hope in You.
